Professional Ethics
I adhere to the Code of Ethics set forth by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and follow the highest standards of professional conduct in clinical psychology practice.
My practice is guided by the principles of beneficence, non-maleficence, autonomy, justice, and fidelity. These principles ensure that the well-being of clients is always the primary consideration.
I engage in regular supervision and continuing professional development to maintain and enhance my clinical competence.
Confidentiality
Everything discussed in therapy sessions is strictly confidential. Information is not shared with anyone without your explicit written consent.
There are limited legal exceptions to confidentiality, which include situations where there is imminent risk of harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult, or when required by a court order.
Session notes and records are stored securely and retained in accordance with professional guidelines and Indian law.
Informed Consent
Before beginning therapy, you will receive comprehensive information about the therapeutic process, including the nature of treatment, potential benefits and risks, your rights, and alternative treatments available.
You have the right to ask questions, refuse or discontinue treatment at any time, and request information about your diagnosis and treatment plan.
Informed consent is an ongoing process. I will keep you informed throughout our work together and seek your agreement for any significant changes in approach.
Regulatory Compliance
My practice complies with the Mental Healthcare Act 2017, which protects the rights of persons with mental illness and ensures access to quality mental healthcare.
For online/tele-therapy services, I adhere to the Tele-Mental Health Guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
I am registered with and follow the guidelines of the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), the statutory body for regulating the training and practice of rehabilitation professionals.
